One aspect of women’s history that has not been highlighted
on the library’s blog is women who have served in the military. Women veterans
from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan share their experiences with author Helen
Thorpe. The three women whose stories are included in the book become friends
and endure many hardships.
A supplemental resource that is available to all active and
retired military personnel is the Sullivan University Military Guide. The guide has
links, videos, and books related to different aspects of military life and life after the military.
