Every so often on the national news we see videos or images of children reuniting with their moms or dads who have come home from active military service. These reunions are often filled with emotion. When we see the gratefulness and the joy on the child's face that his or her parent is back home, it is a reminder of the sacrifices made by both parents and children.
As National Military Appreciation month draws to a close, let us remember the children of active service members who know our national heroes as Mommy and Daddy.
